How we compare chatbots

WhichChatbot is written for people choosing an AI subscription, not for AI researchers. Simple rules keep it honest:

Prices

• Every price links to its source and shows when it was reported.
• The table shows the cheapest paid plan; every product listed also has a free tier.
• Prices we haven't verified say “not yet verified” — we never guess.

“How smart is it?”

We use the crowd-voted LMArena leaderboard, where people compare chatbot answers blind and vote for the better one — the closest thing to “which feels smarter in real use”. We name the model behind each product and link the source. The top models are extremely close; treat small gaps as a tie.

Feature checkmarks

Capabilities (web search, images, voice, file upload, deep research, phone app, free tier) are checked against each product's official site. Last checked: 2026-07-21.

Independence

No affiliate links, no sponsorships, no vendor money. Corrections are welcome — every entry shows its date, and we fix errors fast.
